I would consider myself an entrepreneur. I started a law firm about two years ago and have been working hard to create a successful sustaining business. And I learned pretty quickly the one question you must be able to answer when starting a business. The key to answering that question is to figure out who your ideal client is, where they are, what they are looking for, and then putting yourself in position so you can be seen and heard when they need your product or service (and when they see you you inspire confidence).
For example, let’s take use my job as a Bellevue DUI lawyer as an example. My ideal client is employed, is younger to middle aged (similar to me), doesn’t have any criminal history, and could stand to lose a lot from losing this case. They are technologically savvy and have an idea of what a lawyer looks like in their mind.
In this case, you are likely to find your ideal client on the internet looking for your services. And they will be looking for a clean site that presents a good image and reassures them that you know what you are doing. The information on your website will discuss the things they face losing if they lose this case and explain why having good help is a must.
Once you have an idea of who your perfect client is and where you can find them, you can start implementing processes and procedures to get them. Good luck!
