The earth is a sacred place. It is home to everyone, alive in its own right. Plastic is a huge and deadly product which is used worldwide in countless ways. It is in shopping bags, clothing, furniture, product wrapping, pharmaceutical containers and hair care products. The opposite of green technology is plastic. Each year, landfills take in Styrofoam, plastics, paper cups, and containers, all which will not help to save the environment.
This is a throw away society, where consumerism has overtaken necessity. Green technology is simple for now, more and more companies have taken it upon themselves to act in a responsible manner. Purchasing from conscientious businesses is a great first step to help save the environment when looking for products either for necessity or enjoyment. Thanks to the internet, they are no longer hard to find. Reducing the products which are used and purchasing those which have little or no packaging will greatly help. Many cities help their customers by supplying the bin where glass, paper, aluminum and plastic can all be put in together. Recycling, re-using and reducing are part of this green technology.

Electric cars were invented decades ago, and then taken off the market before they could become popular, however, now they are back. Electric cars run on batteries and have no emissions. Hybrids use electricity and gasoline to run and Biodiesel has the ability to utilize a number of different fuels, from cooking oil, biomass and soybeans. Using an alternative source of fuel can directly affect the planet and can help to save the environment. This requires change on each person’s part and may not be something one can do immediately. Global warming is real and in order to make the changes necessary to save the environment, learning all one can regarding green technology for alternate and healthy sources of transportation can make a difference.
Without trees on earth, there would be no life. They give oxygen while absorbing carbon dioxide. Where cars take away, trees give back. To save the environment, planting trees is necessary and there are many places one can go where open land is abundant. They are a life force which each year has been diminishing, thanks to non sustainable logging practices, farming and industry. Green technology includes planting living things back into the earth, for without this simple practice, human beings will not survive.
