Most of us who appreciate home entertainment equipment would have and also appreciate the use of an audio tower in the home. These towers provide us with a sensible way of storing and displaying expensive pieces of entertainment equipment such as TV’s, DVD players, satellite receivers and the like. audio towers allow us to keep our equipment in good working order and to help keep them clean and free of dust, particles and accidental damage.
How many times have I walked into my friends’ house and almost cringed at the sight of her home entertainment equipment sprawled out across their living room floor?! I immediately voiced my opinion (knowing that it would be taken in the correct sense of course) that I really felt she’d be much better off investing in a tower to house the equipment. Lack of space was my friends’ answer. It’s true; she didn’t have a whole lot of wall space in her living room but that’s when I told her about corner audio towers. I explained to her that these are marvelous for homeowners who don’t have a lot of space but yet want a storage solution for their entertainment equipment. I went on the internet and showed her all the types of tower that there was for her to choose from and how it is to be used.
For instance, whether you go for the standard or corner tower, placement is critical. You need to leave a space between the tower and wall to allow for adequate ventilation. Also you should not place it near a direct heat source such as a radiator or window that has a lot of sun coming in through. Place it as close to a wall socket as possible so you don’t have trailing flexes or a need for an extension lead (to avoid accidents). Each individual piece of equipment should have its own shelf as stacking them on top of one another is dangerous and will eventually effect their operation. Lastly, the tower should be accessible to whoever uses it most so make sure that you can reach the top shelf without having to over reach and don’t prop things up against it. I am delighted to report that my friend is now the proud owner of an audio tower!
