Kettles, one of the inventions that we all take for granted. I’m guessing you’ve never stopped to think about how great these little machines are, but recently I’ve had the privilege of doing so. It’s not just because you can get discount kettles or electric kettle on sale, it’s just the whole simplicity behind them that reflects on appreciating the simpler things in life in general.
So, what does a kettle do. It boils water. Hardly a big deal I’m sure some of you are still thinking, but imagine if one day all kettles stopped working. How would we get warm water? It’s mean no clean warm water to drink, to put in your tea or coffee. Boiling water via a hob will take a lot longer, and doesn’t have a automatic cut off meaning a lot more chance for accidents to happen.
Kettles are just one of those things that make you life a lot easier, yet most of us wouldn’t realise how much unless they actually lose the use of it.
Like I said, recently I’ve been appreciating the smaller things in life. Things like cameras, how do they work? Is it not amazing how a picture of you can be taken and that moment captured for ever? How is that even possible? Even more so with video cameras, you can watch every thing back in full details, like your memories but therefor every one too see. I’m not old, but I really am amazed by the kind of things we can do with technology. I seriously have no idea what sort of things we’ll be able to do in the future, probably some things we’ve never even thought out. At one point will personal flying suits become the norm?
There is so many possibilities, but for now I’ll stay admiring the wonderful kettle.
