The Tassimo T Disc brewer is a small machine, but don’t let it’s looks deceive you. The technology put behind it is complex, yet the way it works is so simple. With the Tassimo T Disc brewer, you can brew one hot beverage at a time. You simply fill the brewer with fresh water, insert the T Disc of your choice, and wait for a minute. The machine does all the work, although its job would be impossible without the aptly named T Discs. Each T Disc (a small plastic pod) contains the perfect amount of ingredients needed in order to brew the perfect cup of tea (or coffee, or hot chocolate if you prefer.) The flavors are carefully sealed in with an air-tight label, which contains its own special barcode.
This barcode contains information such as how much water is needed to make that specific drink, what temperature the water needs to be, and how long the brew time should be. You simply slip the Tassimo T Disc into the brewer, and it deciphers all this information from the barcode. Using a form of technology known as inverse flow, all the brewing itself takes place inside the T Discs. This ensures no flavors seep out into the water, or contaminate the machine in any way. This also means there is absolutely no mess to clean up afterward. When you are done with your T Disc, you simply remove the empty pod and throw it away.
