There are two main types of engines: gas powered engines and ducted fan electric engines. Both of these types will provide your aircraft with excellent performance and enjoyable flight, but there are some large differences between the two choices.
Electric Jets
Electric jets are generally easier to fly compared to their gas powered counterparts. They are also cheaper to buy and are more readily available on the market. The only thing is that they are slower than gas powered jets. However, these planes are still capable of very fast speeds which are more than enough for the majority of flyers. An electric jet can also do plenty of acrobats such as flips, steep turns, and many more. Electric engines are sometimes more flexible compared to gas engines because they are lighter, thereby capable of more tricks.
Gas Engines
The most popular gas engines for jets are turbines. These planes are extremely fast and the best model gas turbine planes are capable of speeds over 200 miles per hour. Their only downside is that they are expensive to buy and complicated to maintain. Buying an aircraft like this is not the same as buying any other model jet. You have to put as much care into it as you would with an automobile, motorcycle, or any other complicated machine.
