A lot of people have the experience of working in a restaurant at some point in their life. It’s a great first job to have and some people even make a career out of it. If you have a love of music and also have experience in a restaurants setting than a karaoke bar might be just the thing for you. You can expect to meet friendly people and to make good tips as long as you are able to handle listening to amateur singers on a daily basis. While it certainly isn’t for everyone, a karaoke atmosphere can be a lot of fun while allowing you to make money at the same time.
The good thing about working in a karaoke bar is that you don’t actually have to know a lot about the hobby. You will never be asked to work and the main karaoke machine since that is the job of the DJ. In fact, you probably won’t ever have to get close to the karaoke system yourself unless there is an emergency. Remember it’s very similar to working a regular job in a restaurant except that karaoke will be going on at the same time. Depending on the establishment the clientele should be pretty friendly unless it is more of a sports bar that occasionally has karaoke. In that case, it will be less of a karaoke atmosphere and more like working in a local hangout.
If you want to apply for a job all you have to do is come up with the best resume possible. Make sure you list your past experience being a server, and it helps to tell them that you have an interest in karaoke whether you actually do or not. The more you know about the subject, the more likely you will get hired for the position. In time, it’s entirely possible to form a close bond with all of your coworkers and the patrons since karaoke has a way of bringing people together.
