Every year the rampant college party crowds from the dozens of American college campuses descend on to the beaches of Cancun Mexico to let off steam, and pretty much stay drunk for their entire stay in Mexico. People who vacation with their family try to avoid these young adults in such a state, and a few have found the answer on the shores of Tankah bay in the village of Tulum Mexico. It is slightly off the beaten path of most vacationers that visit the Yucatan Peninsula, and presents a more natural setting, without all the neon signs, and loud night clubs of it’s sister city in Cancun. The cabanas Tulum offers are more affordable, but have actually better views and semi private beaches than the other resorts nearby.
Bring your laptop, or iPad if you want, but most people who think they will be updating their Facebook page, or doing a little work on their vacation are going to be in for a big surprise. There is absolutely no way a piece of technology can compete with what unfolds on the sandy white beaches of Tulum, and many seem so entranced by the scenery’s beauty they often forget to snap a few vacation photos to take home to share with friends.

Even a few celebrities can be spotted in this little slice of paradise, as the cameras, and paparazzi do not seem to travel this far south, and affords actors, and performers a little me time without having to worry about a reporter tweeting the public about their every move.
The best description of Tulum resort living is a cross between country life, the movie “Castaway” with Tom Hanks, and a whole lot of heaven on earth. If you are thirty something or older, and genuinely want that rest and relaxation that should be part of a holiday or vacation then you owe it yourself, spouse, and family to stay in the village of Tulum, Mexico at least once in your lifetime.
Most travelers will rent a small car when arriving at the Cancun airport, but there are buses, and taxis that will offer very affordable rates to deliver everyone to Tulum, which is a little over an hour south of the airport. Having a car for hire will be much more practical if someone in the family wants to go shopping in Playa del Carmen, or visit the Tulum ruins, and cenotes.
