Koh Phangan is emerging as one of the best holiday destinations in Thailand. The island is shaking off its image as being the shabby younger brother of Koh Samui and is attracting plenty of short stay visitors who are looking for unspoiled natural scenery and good quality accommodation at reasonable rates. For the rest of the time Koh Phangan returns to its sleepy, laid back self. One of the beaches that typify what Koh Phangan has to offer is Haad Yuan. It is a small beach tucked into a cove on the east of the island, just north of Haad Rin.
Haad Yuan has a gorgeous palm fringed beach. The water is great for year round swimming. There are very few people who stay on Haad Yuan beach and so it is a perfect place to go to escape from the crowds of Haad Rin.
The beach at Haad Yuan is only accessible by boat or by a jungle path. This gives the place a Robinson Crusoe charm that some people find irresistible. Although hard to reach, Haad Yuan has got a great resort to stay at called Centara Pariya. The resort has stylish accommodation, a swimming pool, a restaurant and internet facilities. Room prices start at about $120 a night.
