There are lots of things to do on the island of Koh Phangan such as wakeboarding, kite surfing, scuba diving, elephant riding and archery. There are also over 20 beaches to explore on the island and a number of temples to visit. There are some great places to get a massage and a spa treatment. There are some good shops in Thong Sala and Haad Rin to buy bikinis, sarongs and souvenirs. There is plenty of fun to be had at night in Koh Phangan too.
Haad Rin Nok is the home of the famous Full Moon Party – a monthly event that is the biggest beach party in Asia. There are plenty of different genres of music to enjoy. The party is well organized and peaceful. It is the perfect opportunity to dance all night and see the sunrise over a beautiful beach. There are few bigger nights out than the Full Moon Party.

On the back of the success of the Full Moon Party there have emerged a number of other good parties to attend such as the Half Moon Party, the Black Moon Party and the Jungle Experience. They are all held in the Ban Tai area and although not as big as the Full Moon Party are still enjoyable.
If live music is more your thing, then there are now 2 venues in Koh Phangan where there is regular live music. They are The Jam (Saturdays) at Hin Kong and The Sound (Fridays and Sundays) in Ban Tai. The Jam has an open mic night where anyone with musical ability can join in. It’s a well attended night and worth the visit to Hin Kong.
Other nightlife options in Koh Phangan include hiring a private karaoke lounge at the Land Ahoy restaurant in Ban Tai, touring the bars in Thong Sala or Haad Rin or attending one of the many small parties that regularly happen on the various beaches around the island.
Enjoy yourself, but remember not to drink and drive in Koh Phangan. The police might not catch you but the dangerous roads might.
