Bar Stool Cushions, For Comfort And Style

Topping off your bar stools with some cushions is an excellent way to add style and class to those bare seats.  The added comfort that finely padded bar stool cushions also provide will have your family and friends thanking you.

A typical bar stool, however is a difficult place to securely mount a cushion.  The smaller seat size and the higher seat height usually lead to your cushions ending up on the floor.  There are a few options available to consider when choosing your cushions, however.

Backless, round or square top bar stools stand out as the perfect candidates for the first style of cushion.  A cushion, sized to match the seat top will have a stretch skirt sewn around the circumference of the cushion, which can then be pulled down around the lip of the seat.  This style securely affixes the cushion to the seat top and ensures it won’t end up on the floor, along with the stool’s occupant.

The third cushion style of note is much like how you would see chair pads cushions affixed to normal kitchen chairs.  This works with raised bar stools that have back supports, and is especially useful for odd shaped seat tops.  Simple tie down straps are sewn into the sides of the cushions and they are aligned with and tied to the vertical back support spindles.  While this design will keep the cushion on the bar stool, and off the floor, you may find that it still slides around.  Adding a rubberized under pad such as the Gatorgrip brand should minimize this and keep those bar stool cushions comfortably beneath the occupant.  Good luck!
