Linen Cabinet Organization

Most people’s linen cabinets are in a state of disarray, especially for people who have children. It is often quite difficult to organize the bathroom linen cabinet with kids pulling things out of the cabinet all the time. Some people also put things in the linen cabinet which do not belong in the linen cabinet.

For proper organization of the items in the linen cabinet, you have to ask yourself first, “What are the necessary items that should be in the linen cabinet?” The linen cabinet should have towels, wash cloths, tissues, shampoos, soaps, and sometimes bed linens. The rule here is to have more than what you need. Have a few sets of items ready for each individual in the house, and extra sets for surprise guests.

If you have enough shelves, you can also assign a shelf to every person in the household. This way, things do not get mixed up. You can also ask the adults to maintain their own shelves. Adults should have upper shelves and youngsters should have the lower ones. This will mean less work for you and the linen cabinet is bound to stay organized this way. Family members will also need where to look for and where to get supplies if they need anything from the linen cabinet.

If family members have their own space in the linen cabinet, they are bound to arrange their things neatly and this will encourage youngsters to be responsible with their things. Teach them that they will be responsible for their things and teach them how to arrange their linens on the cabinet.

You can also purchase different linens for each individual so that they will know exactly which is theirs and which are not. Children, for one, love getting linens with cartoon characters. You can also try purchasing linens in each individual’s favorite colors.
