If you own a weapon, and you have children in your home, common sense demands that you get a lockable storage box for that weapon. Children can be very inquisitive and it only takes them a few moments alone, out of your site, to find items in your closet that you might not want them to get into. Having lockable storage boxes for those types of belongings makes sure that even if the child finds the box they’re not able to get inside.
While you’re going as far as that you may as well cover your children for other things that might be stored that are harmful in your garage like pesticides, ant poisons, Rose herbicides, chlorine tablets for the pool or varnish and paints along with paint thinner and acetone should all be locked up in a locking storage box or lockable storage container of some kind.
Household cleaners like Comet and window cleaner can be hazardous to your health if not handled properly. Having these types of clandestine products lying around out in the open when children are around is also something that should be avoided. Just putting these household products inside a bucket or under the sink is probably not enough. Having lids that are difficult enough that a child can’t open them is one of the best ways to keep harmful products away from small children, but when they are open containers, they can be put into a lockable plastic container that will make sure little hands can’t pry it open.
It is difficult task to keep up with a child that’s three, having all the energy that they do so for your own protection and the child’s. Make your household products, your special private belongings, and your garage pesticides and poisons locked up and put a way using lockable containers made of plastic storage that keep kids out.
