As the summertime approaches, many people will begin to plan their get-togethers with friends. Soon there will be backyard barbecues, park picnics, tailgating parties and campfire shenanigans. And the one thing that helps to liven up the party (especially family reunions) are the party games that we all love to play. This year, why not try out a new outdoor game that is tons of fun and will keep everyone coming back.
Our first suggestion is to try out one of the up and coming popular outdoor games. Our favorite is Kan Jam which combines Frisbee golf with horseshoes to create a wild and fast paced competition between friends and family. While it’s hard to convey the excitement and fun this game is, basically it uses a team format to keep everyone engaged while playing.
One partner throws the disk towards the opposite goal while the partner has the ability to hit the Frisbee towards the goal if it looks like it might be off course. The games are played to 21 and the average game lasts about 10 minutes or less. This is great for kids and adults and you’ll find that there’s always a line of people waiting to play.
Another fun game is a bit of a classic but is everyone’s favorite party game. Cornhole is a fun game played in much the same way as horseshoes, but instead of a post it uses Cornhole boards that have a hole cut out in the middle. Each team has beanbags (sometimes filled with actual corn) and these bags are tossed onto the platform, trying to get the bag in the hole. This game takes a lot of skill and finesse but once you’ve played a couple of rounds it’s hard to stop.
Each game is fun and exciting and can be purchased online or at some sporting goods stores.
