Image Sizes
Phoenix security experts state that HD cameras are also a little different when it comes to resolution. HD cameras only offer two different resolutions–720p and 1080p. Megapixel cameras offer many more resolutions. This means that some megapixel cameras actually have better, more detailed images than some HD cameras.

However, smaller pixels do not pick up light as well, so in low-light situations they may produce low-quality images.
