Redecorating your home is so much fun. I love to live in a home that is modern and stylish or artistic and slightly old fashioned, depending on my mood. Maybe you want to change the color scheme or just freshen things up. This can be done easily with a few statement pieces like an arc floor lamp and new dining chair covers.
The first thing to do when redecorating is to get rid of all kinds of clutter. Over time, clutter takes over without us even realising it. Things tend to pile up, and these are often things that are broken and cannot be used. Take a look around your home. Now grab a big box or bag, and put in it all the stuff that you don’t love.
You may have a hard time getting rid of things, so you don’t have to get rid of them all at once. Make two piles – one is a definite “trash” pile of things you don’t like and don’t work in your home. If it doesn’t work or looking at it makes you sick it can go into this pile, this pile is quite easy to create.
For the rest of the items, they should go in a maybe pile – I like to pack these things away in a vacuum storage bag or maybe a suitcase. If you don’t take them out within a year, you need to throw these things away.
Once you’ve gotten rid of all the clutter, it’s time to put things away. By now you probably have a lot of excess storage space, so organizing should be easy. After this, do a bit of cleaning and see how your home looks. If you want, you can repaint some faded surfaces, and get new cushions and fabrics to brighten things up.
