Should You Lose Weight Quickly Or Slowly

When trying to lose weight quickly it is tempting to try various diets that claim to be the quickest ways to lose weight fast with minimal effort. Or even worse, the diet requires that you purchase expensive exercise equipment or “proven to work” diet pills. The truth is crash diets can be dangerous and they rarely lead to permanent weight loss. This is because during a crash diet your metabolism slows down to compensate for rapid fat loss. This is why after you have completed the diet program the weight piles back on quickly. The best way to lose weight is to do so slowly while implementing lifestyle changes and habits that you are likely to adopt and continue in the long run.
Exercise

Get into the habit of exercising regularly. This only has to involve 20-30 minutes a day, three to five times a week. Make this a daily routine. If you’re worried you won’t stick to your exercise routine get into the habit of running or cycling to work every day rather than driving. Not only does this increase your metabolism while exercising, helping to burn more calories, your metabolism will work faster after exercise so you can be burning calories while resting.

Count your calories
Counting your calories every day will help you avoid the foods that are highest in calories. It will also enable you to plan how to reduce caloric intake. To lose about 1 pound over a week, subtract 500 calories a day from your current calorie intake. A reduction of just 1000 calories could result in weight loss of about 2 pounds per week.

Eat fewer big meals.
Eat fewer big meals and more smaller meals as this will prevent binge eating or over-eating during meal time. It is important to ward off hunger every two to three hours. Eat snacks high in quality protein and carbohydrates that are low in sugars and fats.
