Bike Wall Racks – These types of rack mount to the wall and generally hang up one to two bicycles depending on their size and how much wall you have. There are two styles of wall racks. The first is for single bikes and are designed to hang the bike strait out from the wall like you are riding strait up it. The hanger is set up so you lift the bike and it’s supported by the front tire. This type of hanger is small and easy to mount.

The drawback to this style is that it does stick your bike out and that can get it in the way. The other major wall mount style hangs the bike upright and can usually hold more than one bike. This style will usually have some type of bar or support that runs from the floor to the ceiling and will be adjustable for the height of the bikes. Other versions mount completely to the wall and are more of a permanent mount.
Bicycle Hoists – This type of bicycle storage idea uses a few pulleys and hooks and rope to actually hook to the bicycle in two different places. Using the rope and the pulleys, you can simply hoist the bike up and out of the way. This is a great storage idea if you have the ceiling room to get a bike up and out of the way.
