Whether you actually believe that auras exist – or whether you find them nothing more than a simple parlor trick – you can still have fun trying to actually read them. Every now and again, you might actually find yourself gazing at one! And who knows – maybe you will turn out to have a certain skill for reading auras.
An individual who believes that all people – all living beings, really – are surrounded by gently shifting clouds of colored light will tell you that an aura is in fact an energy field. This field has certain recognizable properties which tend to manifest in various colors. With a little practice and a dose of intuition, you can actually see them.
If you haven’t tried before to see auras, ask a willing friend or family member to stand in front of a wall. If it’s possible, use a wall that is white or off-white. At a minimum it should be monochromatic. You are going to be staring at this person for up to ten minutes straight so they should be comfortable with the situation.
Direct your gaze towards the small space above the upper lip but below your friend’s nose. After a moment or two, try to soften your gaze. That means to let your eyes relax. It’s okay if things go a bit blurry at this point. Just don’t move your eyes or stop looking.
At some point after the blur begins, you might begin to see colors. It will look like an outline – especially around your friend’s head and perhaps even their shoulders. The light might appear to shimmer or it might seem to be floating. Some people have said that they see bright streaks of light moving back and forth. The colors you see will shift from pastels to vivid and sharp.
Don’t feel bad if the aura is not visible to you. Plenty of people don’t see them – and others deny they exist at all. But looking for them can actually be fun in itself. And remember, it’s always possible that there is more to life than meets the eye.
