Most parents want the best for their kids – even when it comes to toys. That is why we see parents shopping for toys opting for the most sophisticated toys they can afford. This is more often than not a good way of doing things. After all, the sophisticated toys are likely to amuse the kids more. The sophisticated toys are also likely to impress neighbors and other ‘watchers’ more. But we are also of the view that there are some situations in which it would be more sensible to consider buying the simpler toys for kids.
One such situation where you may be advised to consider simple toys is where you happen to be trying to impress a very young kid. You notice that most of the high-end sophisticated toys are meant to impress older kids, who are capable of appreciating the level of sophistication in the toys. But a very young kid will be better served by simple toys, till he or she grows to an age where they can appreciate toy sophistication.

At this point, it is worth coming to terms with the fact that the highly sophisticated toys are usually also commensurately expensive. But the pain would be too much, in buying such expensive (and sophisticate)d toys for a kid, only for the destructive kid to pull them apart in a matter of minutes. Rather than opting to wait till your finances improve (which may take long) before you buy toys for kids – by which time they may have outgrown the toy-stage, you can simply buy what you can afford in the meantime. In any event, some relatively simple toys like the previously mentioned angry birds toys are fairly impressive and amusing to kids; their relative simplicity notwithstanding.
